When the clock strikes ten, get out of bed and walk towards the Hofburg complex, past the history museums and explore the beautiful Burggarten park. Then go enjoy the view from above as well, with a stop at Palmenhaus. This restaurant is just a small part of the imposing greenhouse that also houses exotic butterflies and the palm trees that decorate the city during summer.
As a small reminder, the interior is also scattered with plants and palms, but that won’t stop you from enjoying the great view through the large windows. They also offer a very fresh and light menu, which makes it a great option for breakfast. During weekends it opens at 9am so you have no excuse to skip breakfast.
Lunch at Motto am Fluss

Assuming you continued your morning with some sightseeing in the historical first district, we’ll direct you to its other end for some lunch. On one bank of the Danube canal you will see that dining in Vienna comes in many shapes and sizes. In boat shape and size, to be precise.
This Venetian-style boathouse stands out as it overlooks the canal and the city extending beyond it, so you can enjoy an amazing panorama while you indulge in delicious homemade pies and cakes. And if sailing is not your thing, you can still enjoy the experience while firmly attached to land. But it’s not just the view that makes the sale; Motto am Fluss is also quite proud of their use of organic produce, homemade bread and goodies, plus the first organic beer in Austria. Keep in mind that afternoon opening times are between 11:30am and 2:30pm, so don’t miss the boat on lunch, so to speak.
Dinner at DOTS

Dining in Vienna offers many gourmet experiences but if you love Japanese delights, there is one place above all: DOTS. Open until midnight, the venue gives you enough time to sample fun sushi dishes as well as vegetarian goodies and more traditional cuisine that still plays with unique flavours.
Such unique cuisine deserved to be complemented by a truly magical décor. For DOTS, that means a quirky ambient that combines flowers and pop art decorations in an upside-down urban jungle that will have you snapping away. The place really comes alive after dinner, when the tempting cocktail bar becomes the main attraction.
