Theyskens Theory was created in 2011, when Theory CEO Andrew Rosen brought Olivier Theyskens to design a capsule collection for his brand. The Belgian designer had previously had very successful stints as creative director for Rochas, where his couture creations were both a blessing and a curse for the fashion house, as the appropriate yet shocking price tags and his refusal to create a more marketable and affordable line led to the house's demise. The following three years have seen him at Nina Ricci, where he seemed that his business vision had gotten wiser, as well as his more youthful creative direction. He brought his clean aesthetic to Theory, but the collaboration proved rather short-lived, the brand announcing his departure in June 2014 and returning to their in-house design team.
