Prada is certainly one of the biggest names in luxury fashion and it almost needs no introduction. The brand was founded in 1913 by Mario and Martino Prada as a leather goods shop, but the most recognised name in its history is still Miuccia Prada - the founders' granddaughter - who brought the label to where it is today.
She started the handbag manufacture in 1979, at the advice of her partner Patrizio Bertelli, becoming almost an instant hit thanks to its use of sturdy fabric in clean designs that exude luxury. That is still the spirit of the brand to this day, a brand that promotes itself as "anti-status", avoiding the use of big label logos on their handbags and relying on their reputation of craftsmanship.
