American designer Peter Som made a name for himself after graduation with top honours from Parsons School of Design. He practiced his skills in apprenticeships at Michael Kors and Calvin Klein, then working as assistant designer for Bill Blass, taking over the creative director spot a few years later.
His eponymous label was created in 2001, and in 2008 he abandoned his position at Bill Bass to focus on his own work. One year later, Peter Som was appointed Creative Consultant for Tommy Hilfiger's womenswear. 2012 saw him go back to his own label, centred around a San Francisco-infused style, with elements of effortless elegance mixed with a touch of sexiness. This Peter Som brand profile introduces you to his playful creations.
