Loewe had an atypical start for a fashion brand, initially being a cooperative of leather artisans founded in Madrid in 1846. Realizing the potential of their luxury craft, German entrepreneur Enrique Loewe Roessberg was the one who put the workshop on the map of luxury fashion, as one of the first true luxury brands in the world. Almost a century later, the brand got its now famous anagram of four intertwined L-s, created by artist Vincente Vela. At the same time, it became a beacon of modernity, with the contemporary architecture of their stores displayed all over the world, from London to Tokyo. Currently under the creative direction of Jonathan Anderson, the brand’s most iconic creations were the Amazona and Flamenco bags, but nowadays they also have a successful range of perfumes.
