Etro is an Italian luxury brand which produces textiles, ready-to-wear, shoes, jewellery, accessories, leather goods, home decorations and perfumes. The brand was established in 1968 by Gimmo Etro and it is still a family business today. It all started with special textiles from natural fibres and with bold prints. Soon, the iconic paisley print was born. It was used for furnishing textiles and it became synonymous with Etro’s identity. The next step was the fragrances collection and in 1990, Etro launched the first ready-to-wear collections for men and women. Six years later, the brand presented it’s first runway show in Milan. It opened stores here, but also in Paris, New York, Tokyo, London and Vienna. Currently, the business in run by Gimmo’s four children. The Etro family is famous for its ancient textiles and art collections which inspire them season after season to create beautiful clothing with an exotic feel to them. They have travelled all over the world and gathered things that they found interesting. The Italian fashion house continue to text different fabrics and technologies in order to get spectacular results and it also collaborates with artists who interpret the iconic Paisley print year after year.
